June: Silent No More

International Day to Eliminate Violence Against Women is acknowledged on November 25. Sometimes we trick ourselves into thinking that gender-based violence is an issue that only impacts other people's communities. This story, which is prefaced with a little bit of my own, is a testament that it can happen everywhere even in small towns in Wisconsin. This is the story of one of many survivors and the analysis of a gender sociologist Cynthia Ganote.
